A guy who sat next to me - "News"

This Summer, I visited my friend in LA, California for more than a month.
One of my favorite things on a trip is to meet people.
I always meet and talk with someone who sits next to me. Maybe, I should say that someone talkative always sits next to me. It's fun. I like it. I don't mind.

On this trip, on the airplane, I sat next to this American guy who was born and raised in Oregon.
He sat on the window seat and was talking with a guy sitting on the aisle seat.
Then, I showed up and sat between them. .. . sorry for the interruption, guys.

He commented on something, and I responded. [which I forgot what it was about]
He started talking with me in a friendly and nice way.
We introduced ourselves and talked about things that we could see from the window. [he never shut the window. I have never sat people who didn't shut the window]
It was fun because we were able to see really pretty mountains, landscapes, and clouds!!
We tried to identify which mountain is what... but OF COURSE, I don't know a lot about Oregon geography. So I was basically listening to him trying to figure out.

As time goes by, he started talking about American news and world news.
Reading news wasn't my thing although many people, especially teachers and my family, TOLD ME to read / watch news. I just wasn't interested in them.

PLUS, I got too excited for this trip. So, I didn't sleep at all on the night before.
I just couldn't help myself getting bored. I really don't remember anything from that time.
EXCEPT

"You don't know anything"
"You have to read news"
"What are you doing?"
"You have to watch news"
"You really don't know anything"
"You have to read news"
. . . . . .

Imagine that.
I listened to that 2 hours straight

ARG!!!
make him stop! I will become a newspaper ><

I told him that I am not from Oregon, so I am not really familiar with Oregon geography.
I told him that I don't really know news in the US.
but I guess it didn't matter to him. I failed to entertain him for 2 hours because of my lack of knowledge in "news"

I was kinda embarrassed.
So while I was staying at a hotel [for a month ish], I watched news as much as I can.
I started reading news on my phone.

At the beginning, it was a pain!
Doing something that you aren't interested is a pain.
Then,
I realized that I have more stuff to talk about with people.

Now, I really like news.
I read new about POP culture, fashion, love, politics, rich people, and etc. [basically anything]
Still, I sometimes have a time when I really don't wanna read anything.
But I am kinda obsessed to know what is out there now. haha

My favorite places to get news are..
Line news, Buzzfeed, Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, Yahoo!news
You can choose many different types of news on Line. I receive at least 40+ information everyday. From what you received, you can also get 10+ more info each. Anyway, it's a good stuff.
I try to watch Buzzfeed at least for 2-3 hours everyday. It's not really the latest news stuff, but I get to learn what people are curious about.
I need to check other webpages too. Any suggestions??? Anyone??

I really had never thought that I would read news. haha
Never know who you will meet and how he/she influences you.
Adulting is shocking. ha

What things do you do which you thought you would never do?

Back"s----------'s" Back, alright. ALRIGHT!!!

It's been a year now since I wrote something on here..
I started this blog as my diary, my something memorable, my writing practice...etc.
Well, it has been really helpful.
I can go back and see what I did and where I went in the US. haha
My grade went up too. [woohoo to that]

What happened?

September 2014
It was my last term.
I tried to catch up with people before I leave OR
I worked as a project manager for a Psychology study.
I found really fun class at my university.
I joined a club.
I volunteered.
I started instagram. [ha]

basically, I decided to enjoy campus life and student life and basic life more.

Then,
You know
inside camera really makes things blurry..

Then,
You know...

I really got distracted by everything

The last term was really fun. I get to meet a lot of people and do many things that smart people might do. haha It really taught me that "I love people waaay too much" and "I don't wanna stop my journey here." I was also preparing to go back to my country: Japan. As soon as International students finish their school, they need to leave immediately. For me as a Japanese, I had to leave within 60 days after graduation. OR I had to apply OPT before graduating from there. International students can get 1 year of work experience in the US after graduating a college / an university. OR I had to open a business. OR I needed to find a husband. haha

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions...

US? or JAPAN?

AMERICA? or TOKYO?

I really thought about it deeply like from my toe / inside of my backbone... deep deep inside.

Then, I decided.

I wanna go to UK.
UK is my dream country.

I decided to stay in the US for awhile and try to get experiences as much as I can now.
Then, I will for sure enjoy my UK life or days or weeks in the future.
That is my plan for now.

I always need to create a broad life plan to motivate myself
Do you do that?

Oh.. so I will be writing diary here on Smile with Vivian from now on.
See ya all soon

Colorado: Rocky Mountain National Park

Our 1st stop was COLORADO state.
Garfy's friend lives in Boulder, Colorado, so we decided to visit him :)
Denver Airport is basically a huge tent with tons of extremely artistic stuff. If you got a time at this airport, it would be fun to walk around the airport and appreciate the artistic stuff.
Some of them were too unique for me to understand of its own beauty.. haha
The next day,
We went to Rocky Mountain National Park!
I am not good at geography, but I remember learning about Rocky Mountain being in the US. So it was so cool to realize that I was at a place where I saw on the textbook when I was little. ha

Since Rocky Mountains are super long, we went to a tiny tiny part of them. It was such a beautiful day and we were able to hike to see three pretty lakes. However, I get car sick easily, so I was sick the entire time while we were driving. I had to miss cool views and an interesting hike.
Garfy and his friend went on a hike at a high elevation point. It was only 1 mile hike. But because of the limited amount of Oxygen, Garfy said it was so hard. Gosh!! I wanted to experience that :'( !!

There were a lot of chipmunks and moose ><
I had never seen neither of them!! Have you?
I also heard a moose making a noise like... ggggggg (kinda higher pitch)
So hard to describe moose's noise with letters. ahaha

How many can you find?

I am gonna write more about my trip at Colorado state :D
